Creating a
collaborative human services sector.
A mapping project, beginning with a focus on the youth sector in
Greenwood, has been set in motion to identify existing
neighborhood programs. This analysis will make it possible to
create and implement a plan of action to coordinate services
already in place, reduce duplication of services, isolate areas
that require new focus and funding, and share the information
with the intended audience. Mapped programs will include public,
nonprofit and voluntary services, and an indepth look at the
resources involved.
"Identification of gaps in service, assisting with the
coordination of programs to fill the gaps, identifying the
strengths of the various organizations and how each can work with
the other to provide the best services within a system of
programs are the ultimate results that will be achieved. This
promises to have a long-term direct effect on establishing
services and positively affecting the futures of the youth of
Greenwood County."
