The Next
Generation Fund Board is comprised of the fourth generation
members of the Self family. Its primary focus for giving is to
support youth development in Greenwood County, South Carolina.
The Next Generation:
Awards grants that encompass diverse programs which focus on
youth literacy, children's recreational and cultural
opportunities, and outreach for neighborhoods and communities.
Assesses each application with a strong emphasis on the
asset-based approach to community development.
Partners with community resources, neighborhoods and
youth-oriented organizations to encourage the future development
and well-being of our younger citizens.
Meets twice a year with proposal deadlines set for May 15 and
November 15. Grants are awarded in June and December.
